Pay for performance, hardly. The numbers in this article are astounding, the notion that one individual "deserves" 10% of the aggregate corporate profit is completely asinine. But wait, it gets better. How would like to get a bonus of 1.4 Million while your company's stock goes into free fall? It's easy if you're the CEO of Merck. This money has to come from some where and, at least in my case, it comes from a raise freeze for the employees (haven't seen one of those in over 3 years). How the hell else were they supposed to come up with Carly's $42 Million parachute, cut luxuries for the board?, perish the thought!
